I don’t mean the polar bear kind of swimming. There are good options for those who are in the mood for some swimming in Salt Lake City. If you have friends or relatives in American Towers or Canyon Road Towers you can have fun while you visit. For the rest, here are nine great options.

Pool Guidelines: If a child age 5 and under is swimming, A PARENT OR CHAPERONE AGE 14 OR OLDER MUST BE IN THE WATER AND WITHIN ARM’S REACH OF THE CHILD AT ALL TIMES.  This rule applies even if the child is wearing a lifejacket. NO EXCEPTIONS.  A copy of this rule may be found at the front desk and is posted inside the facility.  This policy is county-wide and is non-negotiable even if your child 5-and-under can already swim unassisted.  These rules are enforced for the safety of the patrons and to keep swimming related incidents to a minimum.  Guests who do not abide by this safety policy may be asked to leave WITHOUT a refund.

 • Select persons required to wear waterproof pants: Any child under three years old, any child not toilet trained, and anyone who lacks control of defecation shall wear a water resistant swim diaper and waterproof swimwear. Swim diapers and waterproof swimwear shall have waist and leg openings fitted such that they are in contact with the waist or leg around the entire circumference.

 • All swimmers must take a cleansing shower before entering any swimming water: “Cleansing shower” means the cleaning of the entire body surfaces with soap and water to remove any matter, including fecal matter, that may wash off into the pool while swimming.

7- Fairmont Aquatic Center | 1044 Sugarmont Drive, Salt Lake City, 84106 Here is a review from on line: Listen, let me preface this by saying that we were just looking for a place to spend a couple of hours.  With that in mind, this isn’t a place you can show up and spend 6 hours playing around in.  It’s on the small side.  But, even with a kid’s birthday party going on, my family had plenty of room to freely swim around and never had to wait on the big slide.

And speaking of the slide, that was damn fun.  My 6 year old loved it as much as I did!

There are always lifeguards watching.  We never felt un-safe being there.  And it only costed us like $3 a person.  All in all, one great value!
